ÆRØ CONVENTIONAL BEER SELECTION – THE MARITIME LOOK
Each beer has a section of the chart around Ærø as a background.
When you turn the bottle there will be a signal flag. With Signal flags you can communicate with other ships or land – with beer from Ærø Brewery you can now signal to each other across the table or the bar.
Ærø conventional beer selection: Grolle pilsner, Gylden Pale Ale, IPA, 0,5% Pale Ale, New England IPA, Valnød, Dark Ale, Stout, Tangøl, Påske Ale (Easter beer) og Strong Rudolph Jule Ale (Christmas beer).
OUR LOGO – THE SPARROW AND THE LION
With the re-emergence of Ærø Brewery, the logo appeared with the little sparrow standing in front of the lion. the figures are taken from a limestone relief from the church in Store Rise, the small village where the brewery is located. The house sparrow called a Grolle on Ærø, is a kind of national bird on the island. As an extra twist on history, the inventor of the first lager beer in the world was named Josef Groll.
ÆRØ ORGANIC BEER SELECTION – SUN AND FIELDS
The organic selection is recognized with the sun in front. In addition to being a maritime island, Ærø is also characterized by agriculture and not least the many guests who come to the island in the summertime when the sun i high in the sky.
Ærø organic beer selection started as a dublicate of the conventional selection, but the organic varieties are often milder and rounder in the taste and since it was not possible to obtain the same raw matrials organically, the two selections are now more different from each other.
Ærø organic beer selection: Pilsner, Gylden Pale Ale, Session IPA, Valnød, Brown Ale, Imperial Stout og Jule Ale (christmas beer).
A BEER WITH HONOR
Here at Ærø Brewery, we work towards a vision where quality and eminent taste experiences must be available to everyone. This means that beer from Ærø can now be bought widely in the country – at a price affordable to most.
Beer from Ærø Brewery distinguishes itself by being brewed from pure ingredients. This means that when you experience notes of e.g. licorice, spices, or citrus, it’s just good brewing craftsmanship and the pure taste of hops and malt.
It is the pure and simple ingredients that give the deepest taste. That’s life, and that’s beer.
ÆRØ No.5 WALNUT
This beer is the brewery’s signature beer. It is anamber-golden bock with a delicate, round aroma and fine body. Walnut aroma is added o it, inspired by the many walnut trees that grow on Ærø. The walnut aroma is not dominant, but is a good base in this bock. The beer has a good malt sweetness with notes of caramel, malt candies, toasted rye bread and nuts. Here we have cheated a little, as the addition of aroma deviates from the stating point with the four pure ingredients, but it suites tis bock so well that it will not be the same without it.
Drink this beer with firm cheeses and lightly smoked ham, but also good companion for fattier food such as Christmas dinner.
